Children fascinated by the Fire Truck |

|---|---|---|
Though seeing a fire truck racing down the road with it’s lights on and horn blaring is never a good omen, children cannot help but be fascinated. Even when my daughter hears the sirens she immediately announces that there is a fire truck on the way. She already knows from experience that when you see one behind you coming swiftly down the road that you should pull over to let them pass. Perhaps the idea of a fire truck is something that will always caught the imagination of a child, and maybe that has something to do with the fact that they know if something goes wrong, there are people out there who will come to the rescue. If you have been to a parade, you have probably seen fire trucks in the line up. I’m not sure why they do this, but I know the children always love to see them, and they seem to enjoy that part of the parade the most. They like the colorful floats and the bands, but the fire truck is what makes their eyes get wide and light up with excitement. I may be way off of course, but I suspect fire trucks may seem larger than life to them. For a child that seems to love a fire truck, you may want to make sure you get them one to play with. They aren’t just for boys either, as girls seem to love them just as much. This may help you teach them all about fires and why a fire truck is so important to your community. They will play for hours with their new truck, and you may find it to be one of their favorite toys. Just remember your limitations when buying. If you think a siren will drive you nuts, get one that doesn’t have one. Just remember that children faced with a fire truck that does not have a siren will probably add their own sound effects. You may be getting a siren anyway. Consider a Vehicle Donation Program No matter what nonprofit charity you like best, the chance is that it has a vehicle donation program. Vehicle donation programs, after all, make a lot of sense for charities. People get rid of their old cars all the time. |
